Vegetables

Asparagus are spring vegetables, and usually served as side dishes or starters on Polish tables. There are many ways to serve them, fried on butter with garlic is probably the simplest and the yummiest one.

Krokiety z Kapusta i Grzybami (Croquettes with Sauerkraut and Mushrooms)
‘Krokiety’ with sauerkraut and mushrooms are a traditional Christmas Eve meal, but they are also served for an everyday’s dinner or lunch. They go very well with beetroot soup or mushroom sauce.

Special and summery, sweet cream lettuce goes very ell with most of the Polish dishes, especially rich and sophisticated cutlets. This salad is great for Sunday dinners and garden BBQs, loved by both kids and adults. And very simple.

Coleslaw – a raw cabbage salad - is probably the most popular salad in the world. However, I believe there is something special in the Polish version… It’s lighter, less creamy, spicier, and goes perfectly as a light side with main, rich dishes.
